The Handbook of Forensic Toxicology for Medical Examiners is a concise handbook referencing the most common toxic substances and their levels of toxicity, making it an ideal text for quick confirmation in the field or in the lab.
The book begins by explaining the proper selection and submission of specimens for toxicological analysis. It describes the various types of specimens and identifies the cases for which these specimens would be most useful, providing instruction on proper collection. Nearly 300 Toxic Substances Discussed

The main section of the text consists of an alphabetical listing of nearly 300 toxic substances, including drugs of abuse, poisons, prescription drugs, and over-the-counter medications. For each entry, the book provides the common brand names; classification; half life; volume of distribution; usual dosage; tables of toxicity in various samples, including blood, urine, and tissues; and other important information based on the extensive experience of the author. The text is heavily referenced with materials that are useful for preparation of courtroom testimony, and it contains supplemental appendices with information on acetylcholinesterase inhibitors, drugs that prolong the QT interval, pharmacogenetics, normal laboratory values, and conversion charts.

The Goodman and Gilman Manual of Pharmacology.pdf

11th edition of Goodman & Gilman’s The Pharmacological Basis of Therapeutics is 5% shorter than its predecessor, yet the volume still weighs 4 kg. It’s a wonderful book but clearly too heavy to carry around. Hence, this shorter, more portable version, Goodman & Gilman’s Manual of Pharmacology and Therapeutics. This book can be said as encyclopedia of drugs. It explains all the facts about drugs and medicine in such a detail that after reading this book one can easily be said as the master of this field. The book is divided into XV sections. The 1st two sections explain the pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic principles of pharmacology. The rest of the sections are classified according to organ system and each section explains the complete pharmacology of  the drugs affecting a particular organ system. The last section is about toxicology. Each section is further subdivided into a number of chapters.

Harper’s Illustrated Biochemistry twenty-sixth edition.pdf

Harper's Biochemistry is a book that  describes the basics of biochemistry and is user-friendly and interesting. It is helpful for medical students and students of other health-care sciences. Its major goal is to reflect the most significant advances in biochemistry that are important to medicine. Its outstanding quality is its short and to the point text in a very understandable language.
The text is divided into two introductory chapters (“Biochemistry & Medicine” and “Water & pH”) followed by six main sections. Section I deals with the structures and functions of proteins and enzymes, the workhorses of the body. Because almost all of the reactions in cells are catalyzed by enzymes, it is vital to understand the properties of enzymes before considering other topics. Section II explains how various cellular reactions either utilize or release energy, and it traces the pathways by which carbohydrates and lipids are synthesized and degraded. It also describes the many functions of these two classes of molecules. Section III deals with the amino acids and their many fates and also describes certain key features of protein catabolism.
Section IV describes the structures and functions of the nucleotides and nucleic acids, and covers many major
topics such as DNA replication and repair, RNA synthesis and modification, and protein synthesis. It also discusses new findings on how genes are regulated and presents the principles of recombinant DNA technology. Section V deals with aspects of extracellular and intracellular communication. Topics covered include membrane structure and function, the molecular bases of the actions of hormones, and the key field of signal transduction. Section VI consists of discussions of eleven special topics: nutrition, digestion, and absorption; vitamins and minerals; intracellular traffic and sorting of proteins; glycoproteins; the extracellular matrix; muscle and the cytoskeleton; plasma proteins and immunoglobulins; hemostasis and thrombosis; red and white blood cells; the metabolism of xenobiotics; and the Human Genome Project.

Anatomy & Physiology Workbook For Dummies.pdf

Whether your aim is to become a physical therapist or a pharmacist, a doctor or an acupuncturist, a nutritionist or a personal trainer, a registered nurse or a paramedic, a parent or simply a healthy human being — your efforts have to be based on a good understanding of anatomy and physiology. But knowing that the knee bone connects to the thigh bone (or does it?) is just the tip of the iceberg. In Anatomy & Physiology Workbook For Dummies, you discover intricacies that will leave you agog with wonder. The human body is a miraculous biological machine capable of growing, interacting with the world, and even reproducing despite any number of environmental odds stacked against it. Understanding how the body’s interlaced systems accomplish these feats requires a close look at everything from chemistry to structural mechanics.
This workbook isn’t meant to replace a textbook, and it’s certainly not meant to replace going to an actual anatomy and physiology class. It works best as a supplement to your ongoing education and as a study aid in prepping for exams.

Guyton Text Book of Medical Physiology 11th Edition.pdf

The first edition of the Textbook of Medical Physiology was written by Arthur C. Guyton almost 50 years ago. Unlike many major medical textbooks, which often have 20 or more authors, the first eight editions of the Textbook of Medical Physiology were written entirely by Dr. Guyton with each new edition arriving on schedule for nearly 40 years. Over the years, Dr. Guyton’s textbook became widely used throughout the world and was translated into 13 languages. A major reason for the book’s unprecedented success was his uncanny ability to explain complex physiologic principles in language easily understood by students. His main goal with each edition was to instruct students in physiology, not to impress his professional colleagues. His writing style always maintained the tone of a teacher talking to his students.
A brief explanation is needed about several features of the 11th edition. Although many of the chapters have been revised to include new principles of physiology, the text length has been closely monitored to limit the book size so that it can be used effectively in physiology courses for medical students and health care professionals. Many of the figures have also been redrawn and are now in full color. New references have been chosen primarily for their presentation of physiologic principles, for the quality of their own references, and for their easy accessibility.
